Your project plan has a part list. Here’s how it gets filled.

If you’ve run an infrastructure project, you’ve probably lived some version of this. The servers arrive on schedule. The storage arrives on schedule. Then go-live slips anyway, because two rail kits and a handful of transceivers are on back order, and nobody caught it until everything else was sitting on the dock.

The big order gets everyone’s attention. The part list is what actually holds the date.

Here’s how IT sourcing and procurement works at PB&J, from the part list you send us to the parts on your dock, so your plan holds.

Projects don’t slip on the big order. They slip on one part.

Every line on a part list has its own lead time. A manufacturer can announce end-of-life in the middle of your project. Some items ship on allocation. Some come from a single source. And while the big order has an owner, the dozen small lines around it usually don’t, so nobody is watching the whole list against the date.

That’s where plans break: a power supply, a cable, the one drive model the firmware calls for.

A rule worth stealing: treat the part list as the critical path, not the PO. Before you commit to a go-live date, confirm availability on every line, including the cables and optics.

Send the part list. Get a real answer.

What to send

Part numbers or a full BOM, quantities, your need-by date, the ship-to address, and whether alternates are acceptable. You can upload the BOM straight into our quote form as a PDF, Excel, CSV, or Word file.

What comes back

Real answers within 1 business day. Quotes as fast as the vendor allows, and we chase them for you.

A real answer means availability, timing, and options on your list, not an auto-reply. The chasing is the part you get to hand off: one rep owns your list and follows up with manufacturers and distributors, so you don’t have to.

When a part is end-of-life or back-ordered

We tell you up front, not the week it was supposed to ship. When a line is EOL or stuck on back order, we flag it and bring you options: new, refurbished, or remaining EOL stock. You make the call with the trade-offs in front of you, while there’s still time to make it.

Deliveries timed to your milestones

Your project runs on dates: a rollout, a refresh window, a new site opening, a maintenance shutdown that only comes around once a year. The parts need to land on those dates, not just “soon.”

That’s what we mean by event coordination. We plan delivery and logistics around your milestones, and your rep tracks every line against the date so nothing surprises you at the dock.

To be clear about where the line is: we don’t install it. We make sure it’s there when your team is ready for it. That matters most on large refresh projects, where one missed window can push the whole schedule.

Hard-to-find, end-of-life, and obsolete parts: we find the yes

Sometimes the gear still runs fine, replacing it isn’t in this year’s budget, and the part you need was discontinued years ago. That’s the call a lot of suppliers send to voicemail. It’s the one we’re built for.

Our team brings 30+ years in distribution channels and buys through manufacturer and distributor programs across 1,000+ manufacturers and 120,000+ products. When a part can’t be found new, we look for refurbished or remaining EOL stock, and we label it clearly so you know exactly what you’re buying. It’s the core of how we handle hard-to-find and end-of-life parts.

If a compatibility question needs an engineer, we connect you with manufacturer and distributor engineers, at no added cost.

If it exists, we’ll find it.

Vendor-agnostic: we work for your plan, not a manufacturer

We focus on your business, not our manufacturers. When two brands meet your spec, you’ll hear about both, with the real trade-offs on availability, timing, and price. And if a product line has a known supply problem, you’ll hear that before you buy, not after.

No favorite brand means every recommendation starts with your plan.
